While we pride ourselves in protecting your belongings, there is always a risk of damage. Commonwealth Movers offers three (3) different choices to insure your move.

Release Valuation: This coverage reimburses for damage or loss based solely on weight, at a maximum liability of $.60 per pound per article. This coverage is provided FREE.

Fair Market Value: This coverage reimburses based upon the depreciated value of the item. However, certain items do not depreciate. This includes silver, crystal, antiques and paintings. They would be reimbursed at current documented value. For regular household furniture and appliances, the age of the item and the current repalcement cost would determine value. This coverage is $4.00 per $1000.00 of value declared with a $5,000 minimum.

Replacement Value Protection: Basically, this coverage covers repairs, replacement or full reimbursement, with no depreciation. While your belongings are in the care, custody and control of Commonwealth Movers. This coverage costs: $8.50 per $1000.00 of declared value (no deductible), OR $3.00 per $1000.00 of declared value ($250.00 deductible).Please ask our moving representative for further information, they are happy to discuss these options with you.

CARE

Special care will be given to your property. but we will not insure or cannot be held responsible for the following:

• Items in boxes not packed by Commonwealth Movers.
• Loose veneer, dried out glued pieces, dried and brittle wood, existing cracks, scrapes, tears, etc.
• Items made from pressed board or particle board
• Electrical and /or mechanical malfunctions are cover only if there is obvious external damage. Failures due to vibrations incidental to transport are not covered.
• Unpacked items -- examples are but not limited to, glass, mirrors, pictures, lamps, lamp shades and electronics.
• Should it be necessary to fold a mattress in order to move it into it's new location, damaged springs will not be covered.
• All valuable papers, coins, stamps, silver , jewelry, watches, etc.... must be transported by customer and are not covered unless specifically inventoried.... What ever is important to you, keep close to you.
