The Krissoff family company and the Commonwealth Moving staff were incredible. They scheduled a three day, two truck process (packing, loading, unloading) and held to that schedule. The moving team is such a great group of guys. They were careful, thoughtful, friendly (downright fun), and efficient. They wanted everything to be just right. As an example, after placing a rug, then placing a sofa, they were not satisfied with the centering of the rug relative to the sofa, so moved everything and repositioned the rug before finishing unloading furniture. They are an incredible team, working together - it was like watching an orchestra (or maybe a ballet!). And they managed with high humor the problem of "too many trunks" and "too many baskets!" The price estimate was reasonable and exact. Insurance was available for the antiques. I simply could not be more satisfied! This has been unlike any prior experience with moving. The young couple who bought my house also used Commonwealth Movers, and the orchestration of the two moves was perfect.

My six-person moving team of Julio and Javier was very experienced and fast. Everything went well. One word of caution: An unpacking service only works when you move one entire closet to another closet of similar size. Ditto for bookcases. If the cabinetry configuration is different, then unpacking services do not work well, but have the advantage of getting rid of the packing materials.”

I was able to follow their recommendations, labeling every item with its destination room, and I gave them diagrams of where the furniture went in the new place. I used Commonwealth Movers twice: once to move my possessions to storage and then to my new home out of the Washington DC area. Both moves went extraordinarily well. Price quote was the absolute lowest. Others were over 35% higher. The crew arrived on time and repacked some of my self-packed items to be more secure. The crew was professional and caring of my special items. Nothing was broken or damaged in the move. I have moved at least 8-10 times and it is always a stressful experience. Having a reliable mover like the Commonwealth crew eased this stress considerably.
I had used Commonwealth Movers in 1999 and 2000 so when I had to move in 2021 I decided to again give them a try. The movers were amazing and hard working all three moves! I cannot believe how the move was orchestrated so flawlessly. This time they moved me out of a 4th floor apartment with no elevators! They worked hard and only took a 5 min water break during the apartment move out. During the move in to my new place I made them stop for a lunch break. Heck I was hungry and I wasn't working hard like them! I had them move a crickety old desk that should have fallen apart and it made it through without a problem. I was shocked! They completed the move quicker than expected, came in under budget, and billed accordingly. I even got locked out of my new apartment as they were packing up and they offered to get a ladder out so I could get in through the balcony door! I hope not to move anytime soon but I would definitely use them again!

Commonwealth is the only moving company you should ever consider. We were very happy we chose to move with Commonwealth, who made our move less stressful. I just completed my 5th move since 1994 by Commonwealth Movers and I couldn't be more pleased to provide them the highest, most enthusiastic reference possible. I would give them 100 stars if I could and would never even consider using any other movers.

The first of my four moves were around suburban MD, from Silver Spring, to Chevy Chase, to Potomac and Columbia, and the most recent was to Connecticut. Commonwealth's high-quality service begins with its leadership, sales manager Mike Corrado. Mike's estimates are always fair and honest with no hidden or last minute add-ons. Mike has a calming and reassuring nature which is most welcome during these stressful times. Ditto for the very efficient and organized office manager, Faith.

Commonwealth's moving crews have been consistently professional, reliable, trustworthy, speedy and not one thing has EVER been broken or scratched in five moves (this last one with 7,000 lbs. of precious cargo from a 2,300 sq ft, 3-bedroom house). Now I know you would expect all those things from any mover, but I can attest to the fact that you will get all that and more from Commonwealth. In addition, you will get a very warm, friendly and efficient crew that works together in a practiced synchrony that is impressive, even enjoyable to watch. They will go to any length to make sure you are happy on both ends of your move.

Five men showed up for the packing and they were in and out of my house within a few hours allowing me ample time to drive to my new home in CT. On the delivery end the next day, there were only two, but they did the work of five in record time.

Xavier and Miguel didn't stop moving for one moment, even after a six-hour drive. They made carrying nearly 100 boxes and my heavy furniture up one-two flights of stairs look like a walk in the park, never once bumping into a wall or anything of the sort. They remained friendly and accommodating throughout. The even focused on seemingly little but important things to me, like making sure my rugs were put down straight without out bunched-up pads underneath and lifting up my king-sized mattress not once but twice, to rotate it for me and then to put on the bed skirt which I forgot about!

I couldn't have asked for anything more from these wonderful movers and I highly recommend them if you are moving. Trust me, you will be happy you did.

Commonwealth were true professionals! The quoting process was seamless. The moment the truck arrived we walked the house to see the job ahead and the 3 man team got the job done in record time. They protected all furniture, disassembled/reassembled what was needed, and there was not one issue within the move. Priceless is the word that comes to mind.

Commonwealth Movers moved us out of storage and into our new build home during quarantine. They were courteous and professional, keeping safe distances and wearing masks. I was nervous about movers bumping the brand new walls and scratching our new hardwood floors but CM brought their own equipment including protective mats. Their expertise was unmatched, keeping my walls and floors in pristine shape. They were fast and efficient. I recently used Commonwealth Movers to move from Fairfax, VA, to SC. I had never done a major interstate move before and I was especially concerned that some very valuable family heirlooms and delicate antique furniture arrive without any damage. I chose Commonwealth based on their high percentage of good reviews on several sites and consumer sources. I had an extremely positive experience from the initial inquiry and estimate to the final move.

My stress and concern quickly subsided once the packers came to my house and I saw that they knew what they were doing and that they were treating my possessions with care. The team that I had to pack, drive to SC, and unpack were exceptional. Everything was packed well and arrived safely. My team lead, Leonel, listened carefully to everything I said and put everything exactly where it was to go in the new house.

I noticed the camaraderie of the team which showed that they were happy and worked well together which resulted in good work. The owner took an active concern in the planning and execution of the move even visiting my house during the packing process. I am extremely happy that I chose Commonwealth Movers and I highly recommend them.

Commonwealth was recommended by another reputable moving company in the DC area that was booked. They pointed me to Commonwealth as their go-to overflow company. Having had a disastrous experience last year with another company whose guys threw my stuff around and scratched and beat up some things (sloppy handling), and an even worse experience a few years ago with yet another moving company who outright stole a laptop and other valuable personal items from my things, Commonwealth was a breath of fresh air.

Faith was a pleasure to set up the order with. Because of a sudden business meeting request the day of the move (I was moving locally from Takoma Park to Silver Spring), I asked if the moving guys could come as early as possible. I was told - at such short notice - maybe 8 am (normally they start at 9). The team actually came at 7 am, which was perfect for me. The moving team was careful with my things, professional, and fast.

The whole move got done in 4 hours and I had a 3 bedroom house to move. I was well packed and prepared for them. However, had I not been, it would have taken way longer. Nothing was damaged or scratched, and throughout the process, both Faith, and the dispatcher were in touch and pleasant and the moving crew was as nice as could be. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to you and anyone.

Things could not have gone better. Mr. Corrado came to our home in Silver Spring and provided us with a cost estimate. We compared Commonwealth Movers' price to those from other moving companies and found it to be lowest by far.

We arranged for our items to be picked up from our home in Silver Spring on Thursday, April 30, 2015, and to be delivered to an apartment in Asheville, NC, on Saturday, May 2, 2015. The movers (four gentlemen) arrived at our home in Silver Spring early and did an outstanding job loading boxes, cartons, crates, and furniture onto their truck. They were so skilled and so professional! Two of the gentlemen who loaded the boxes arrived at the Asheville apartment (also early!) on May 2, 2015, and unloaded everything. I was afraid things would not fit into the apartment - too much stuff.

Xavier is incredibly knowledgeable about everything - he eyed each room and knew which items would fit best in which locations. Everything arrived just fine and was unloaded professionally. I give Commonwealth Movers the highest of recommendations based on my very positive experience. Wonderful, responsive staff. Fair price. Excellent job.

Phenomenal service. True professionals. No hidden costs. I was on a tight budget and they were conscientious of my budget. We ran into one issue in the new home with a staircase and a box spring. We could not have had a better moving experience. These movers are professionals. Javier and Julio and the team were efficient, careful, helpful, cheerful, and moved everything without a single hitch. The move was complicated by an interim stop to drop off furniture at our daughter's, which also was accomplished expeditiously and with good humor. We were impressed by every aspect of their service. We have moved many times over the years. Our experience with the Commonwealth team was the best we've had.

Commonwealth carried out our move from a town house to a single family home with the military precision. On a rainy day nothing got wet, dirty or broken. In a new location, they put things exactly where you want them to be and adjust to your wishes. They used a combination of a spatial orientation and equilibristics to squeeze our coach through narrow stairs. On top of that their price was super competitive. NO wonder they have such a stellar reputation.

Kevin and his son Sean came over and moved a huge file cabinet. They took such good care carrying it up the stairs and around two ninety degree turns. Price was amazing. I used this company for a local move, billed by the hour. The team was great -- very careful with my things, but also efficient and pleasant. The team lead was professional and courteous. I wish they were located closer to my home so I didn't have to pay a full hour for their travel ($225). Highly recommended.

Generally did a good job. It was a very good experience in terms of the movers not dinging furniture or walls. They were very careful. We also had them pack and generally they did a very good job with the packing. The unloading was somewhat more inconsistent with a number of boxes being placed in the wrong rooms despite labels and in one case porcelain china labeled fragile was at the bottom of a stack of boxes piled four high. nothing was damaged but I sweated bullets when i saw the family heirloom piled under four boxes. I thought they did an overall good job, better than other movers I've used in the past. They did an excellent job repositioning furniture for us and assembling the beds and they had treated us well as customers.
