Extra Protection for Your Belongings

While we at Commonwealth Movers pride ourselves in protecting your belongings, there's always a risk that something could be damaged in a move. We offer 3 different insurance choices for you to select which can help give you some peace of mind during your move.

Release Valuation: This coverage reimburses you for damage or loss based solely on weight. Reimbursement comes at a maximum liability of $0.60 per pound per article. This coverage is provided by Commonwealth Movers for FREE.

Fair Market Value: This coverage reimburses you based upon the depreciated value of your damaged item. Certain items do not depreciate, such as silver, crystal, antiques, and paintings. With this plan, those types of items would be reimbursed at their current documented value.

For regular household furniture and appliances, the age of each item and their current replacement costs would determine their value. This coverage is $5 per $1,000 of value declared with a $5,000 minimum.

The coverage needs to be 5 per 1,000 face value declared with a 5000 min.

Replacement Value Protection: This coverage covers repairs, replacements, or full reimbursements with no depreciation while your belongings are in the care, custody, and control of Commonwealth Movers. This coverage plan costs $8.50 per $1,000 of declared value (no deductible), OR $5 per $1,000 of declared value ($250 deductible).

Giving Your Items the Care They Deserve

Rest easy knowing that when you choose Commonwealth Movers for your moving and storage needs, your items will always be given special care. However, we cannot insure or be held responsible for the following:

Items in boxes not packed by Commonwealth Movers.
Loose veneer, dried out glued pieces, dried and brittle wood, existing cracks, scrapes, tears.
Items made from pressed board or particle board.
Electrical and/or mechanical malfunctions are covered only if there is obvious external damage. Failures due to vibrations incidental to transport are not covered.
Unpacked items, such as glass, mirrors, pictures, lamps, lamp shades, and electronics.
Should it be necessary to fold a mattress in order to move it into its new location, damaged springs will not be covered.
All valuable papers coins, stamps, silver, jewelry, watches, etc., must be transported by you and are not covered unless specifically inventoried. Whatever is most important to you should be kept close to you.
